Water for Water

Water for Water We need water to not only survive, but to do other things such as showering, swimming, and many other water related actions. In some places around the world water is very scarce, and some people don’t have access to clean water. In other places around the world water is used irresponsibly because much of it is getting wasted after being used for display and other unnecessary ways.  I am proposing an idea in which water will be easily collectible and clean for the use of people in their daily lives. It will filter out all pollutants, and be able to keep out stray objects from entering. In order to test out the product first the buyer will be supplied with a hose to test it out on their garden. In the design of the tank it will be in the shape of a barrel with a filter at the top that will be able to withstand stray objects’ impact.  There is also an environmental benefit for rainwater harvesting. Firstly rainwater harvesting prevents runoff pollution because les...

Simple Ways to Preserve the Environment

Simple Ways to Preserve the Environment There are many ways in which we can help the environment from our homes. Many people think that they have to plant trees and go outdoors to preserve the environment, but there are many simple ways to do so in our everyday lives.  First of all we can start using reusable bags - plastic grocery bags that get thrown out end up in landfills or in other parts of the environment. These can suffocate animals who get stuck in them or may mistake them for food. It also takes a while for the bags to decompose. Whether you are shopping for food, clothes or books, use a reusable bag. This cuts down on trash and prevents animals from getting a hold of them.    Recycling is such a simple thing to do, but so many people don’t do it. Ways to recycle are to look for recycling cans near trash cans. Instead of throwing recyclables in the trash with your non-recyclables, make a point to take an extra step to locate recyclin...

COVID-19 and the Environment

Effect of Coronavirus on the Environment The pandemic in the world due to coronavirus has affected people’s health and taken away many lives. Due to COVID-19 our whole country is stuck, As a result of this fewer people are on the road and on the move. COVID-19 resulted in a scare to the whole world and has drastically changed the world we live in. It will also change the environment greatly due to the fact that many people aren’t using cars as much as they used to, and many factories are also shut down reducing the pollution and bad emissions in the air. In a way this pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for the environment because it gets a chance to replace a lot of carbon dioxide in the air while less of it is produced.  Even though this pandemic is positive for the environment in some ways it also can create problems. Due to more people staying home, more fossil fuels will be used causing a reduction in the availability of resources for the future generations. This ...

Actions to Preserve the Environment

Actions to Preserve the Environment The environment around us is often taken for granted by people around the world. As we speak the world is slowly warming up due to the increased emissions and use of fossil fuels. Pollution and waste of energy in many countries is aiding global warming further. Together we need to create awareness around the world to help prevent global warming and depletion of natural resources for future generations. There are many courses of action that we can take to prevent this from happening.  First, we need to learn to conserve as much energy as possible, and if feasible we can use renewable resources like solar energy, wind energy, and hydropower instead of burning fossil fuels and nonrenewable resources.  Secondly we need to stop using coal and natural gas as the main source of energy instead we can turn to the renewable resources available.  Thirdly we need to preserve nature as they counter what we do. We breathe in o...
