COVID-19 and the Environment

Effect of Coronavirus on the Environment

The pandemic in the world due to coronavirus has affected people’s health and taken away many lives. Due to COVID-19 our whole country is stuck, As a result of this fewer people are on the road and on the move. COVID-19 resulted in a scare to the whole world and has drastically changed the world we live in. It will also change the environment greatly due to the fact that many people aren’t using cars as much as they used to, and many factories are also shut down reducing the pollution and bad emissions in the air. In a way this pandemic has been a blessing in disguise for the environment because it gets a chance to replace a lot of carbon dioxide in the air while less of it is produced.

Even though this pandemic is positive for the environment in some ways it also can create problems. Due to more people staying home, more fossil fuels will be used causing a reduction in the availability of resources for the future generations. This pandemic is much worse for people that live in highly polluted areas which means the people that live in those areas are highly susceptible to the coronavirus.  Climate change presents a slower, more long-term health threat thus an equally dramatic and sustained shift in behaviour will be needed to prevent irreversible damage.

Many front line workers (Doctors, nurses, health care and essential retailers) in the world are risking their lives against this pandemic which has caused people to be united for a similar cause. After this short period of time in which we have to battle against this pandemic, hopefully people realize the importance of saving the environment for future generations. In order to do so everyone must unite and fight for a similar cause like many people are doing now.
