Discussion with Dr. Daigger

Earlier this summer, I had the honor of meeting an esteemed professor and renowned water expert - Dr. Glen Daigger. Dr. Daigger is currently Professor of Engineering Practice at the University of Michigan and also President and Founder of One Water Solutions, an engineering and innovation firm. Over his career, Dr. Daigger has become an internationally recognized expert in waste water treatment and water quality management for municipal and industrial systems, with particular expertise in biological processes. He is widely published and is an author or co-author of more than 200 technical papers, four books, and several technical manuals.
During our conversation we were able to cover many things from water purification to my non-profit organization - “Water for Water”. I was able to understand the scope of his work and all that he has done to contribute to the environment, specifically water conservation. He stated that “my career in the water profession began in the 1970’s and has been a blessing throughout my professional life.” Some of his vast experiences have influenced him to believe that ”Water is a natural home for intellectually curious people as water touches every facet of life. So, whatever you learn applies to water, and as you better understand the world of water you also better understand the world around you on a broad basis.” Finally he stated that “We also provide essential services to humankind and to the planet. So, the world of water is populated by good hearted people. There is plenty of room for good hearted people who want to contribute to a better world.” It was truly a pleasure hearing first hand on how we can help the environment, especially from an esteemed professor, Dr. Daigger.
